Since 1984 the Society has organised an annual residential weekend course in or around Cambridge,
with a visiting tutor, often from abroad. The responsibility for these weekends is
now shared alternately with the Norwich Early Dance Group. Each course concentrates on a
particular style and period.
The course in 2009 was in 15th century Italian dance, and in 2010 was about 16th century Italian dance.
Both were held at the Culford School near Bury St Edmunds. The tutor for both courses was Jørgen Schou-Pedersen
from Copenhagen.
The Early Dance Weekend in 2011 is from the 1st-3rd of April. The subject
matter will be the period of Jane Austen and the early 19th century. Ellis and Christine Rogers will
be the instructors for this session.
