As part of an early May Day dance celebration, at Burwell Museum, the Capriol Dancers will guide you through some fun medieval and rustic dances to help bring Spring a little closer.

For further details go to: Burwell Museum and Windmill.

Tuesday Classes

This term we continue learning a Seventeenth Century Italian dance by Cesare Negri from his 1602 publication, "Milan Le Gratie d'Amore" (dedicated to Philip III of Spain, the ruler of Milan)."Bianco Fiore" for two couples with a lot of interplay among the four dancers.

For warm-ups we use dances like "Farondole" or early "Branles" (circular dances), and also dances from our "Estampie" repertoire.

We will be learning 'Prenes a Gard' from the Gresley manuscript following our workshop in September and include dances from John Playford's "The English Dancing Master", 1651 later in the evening.
